| OPERATIONAL INNOVATIONS, INC. specializes in ultra-clean packaging environments. Modern cleanroom technology can provide state-of-the-art commercially sterile packaging zones that minimize the risk of microbiological contamination to your product. |
| Benefits of ultra-clean packaging environments can include: |
|
improved product quality |
 |
reduced microbiological contamination |
 |
extended shelf life |
 |
reduced cost of goods |
 |
the ability to provide consumer-preferred packaging formats |
 |
public relations advantages in today's hypersensitive consumer market |
|
| Our experience allows us to offer engineering design and construction services for ultra-clean environments and production equipment. We also offer assistance with the ongoing operation and maintenance of these environments, including personnel training, procedure development, process control monitoring, sanitation and environmental sampling. |
| The classification of clean environment required for a particular packaging application is dependent upon the susceptibility of the product to spoilage, the spoilage organisms present in the environment and the type of packaging operation being performed. Typically these environments vary from Class 10 to Class 10,000. "Class" refers to the number of particles greater than 0.5 microns in size in each cubic foot of air within the environment. In sharp comparison to an ultra-clean environment, normal outside air generally has over 1,000,000 particles per cubic foot! |
| We
offer an integrated 'turnkey' engineering and project management
service for ultra-clean environments. In addition to the basic
design of clean room systems and production equipment, our services
also extend to all necessary integrated sterile utilities (sterile
water, sterile compressed air, sterile steam, etc.), sanitation
systems, process controls and environmental monitoring equipment.
Procedure development is provided for ongoing monitoring of these
environments that includes particle counts, air sampling, zone
differential pressures, audits, etc. System certification and
personnel training are also offered. |
| Peter Consitt, President of Operational Innovations, Inc. has many years experience with the commercial application of ultra-clean packaging environments in the food and beverage industry. During his time with Cadbury Schweppes (Motts North America division), he had responsibility for designing, building and subsequently operating a $28 million high speed PET aseptic filling facility in New York. Additionally, he has provided support to multiple other aseptic PET plants in the USA and Mexico. Peter Consitt has presented on clean room technologies to the Institute of Food Technologists, the International Society of Beverage Technologists and the National Center for Food Safety and Technology. |
